Ever notice the UFOs of ’50s look like…UFOs from the ’50s.
I’m taking about those grainy, black and white photos of flying saucers that look suspiciously like the early-NASA’s Apollo-era re-entry modules.
I guess we’ll never know if those “foo fighters” were capable of intergalactic flight.
But here’s the thing…
I’m willing to bet my not-even-latest-generation iPhone has more processing power than whatever you might find in one of their shiny cockpits.
It’s pretty crazy what you can do with your phone these days.
Speaking of, did you see all the recent No Excuses Summit 6 speaker interviews posted here on the EMP blog?
All were filmed with a run-of-the-mill smart phone. Nothing special.
You know what’s cool about that?
Everyone has one.
And that’s all you need to instantly become a content creation machine.
Just ask my good friend Sebastian Assaf.
We were having dinner one night at the No Excuses Summit and he asked for my input on creating a new Lead Magnet.
Which, if you’re not familiar, is a brief value-added bonus used as an incentive to opt-in to your capture page.
After a brief discussion I pulled out my phone and said …
… and a few minutes later the Lead Magnet was done.
So the next time you need a nudge, ask yourself the following questions:
1. What’s my story of struggle and triumph?
Sebastian hesitated when selling. He uncovered the root of his reservations and reprogrammed his thinking. Problem solved. Now he speaks with tremendous authority on the subject of overcoming resistance to selling.
2. How does this tie into what I’m selling?
T. Harv Eker played a massive role in Sebastian’s personal development, and it just so happens that there’s Secrets of the Millionaire Mind material featured in our Ignition Coaching Program here at EMP. So it’s a natural transition from the content to the pitch.
3. Who’s going to put me on the spot?
If you find yourself procrastinating, hand someone else your phone and ask them to hit record. Then just talk to them like a normal human being. It often helps to not be in a vacuum in these moments. Just talk. Make it around 5 minutes of story-based content that points towards the resource of your choosing.
That’s it. You’re done.
Lead Magnet achieved. Or blog post. Or Facebook update. Or whatever else.
What’s important is that you put yourself out there and just be you—you’re looking to achieve emotional impact, trust, and familiarity, and nothing else.
Bottom line is that your prospects are struggling and don’t know where to turn or who to trust.
They know the truth is out there and they want to believe in you!
So help ‘em out.
They’ll thank you with their wallets.
